What the Big Three, Big Six and planetary calculator returns
The Big Three are Sun, Moon and Rising. Add Mercury, Venus and Mars and you have the commonly used Big Six. The complete exact-time result contains eleven Western tropical placements: Sun, Moon, Rising, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. Exact-time results show a sign, degree and minute. Approximate-time results evaluate the complete declared window and show every sign or within-sign degree range encountered.
The reading order puts the Big Three first, the rest of the Big Six next, then Jupiter through Pluto more lightly. A separate meaning layer explains the planet’s traditional role, the sign’s style and a concise combined interpretation. It is labelled as traditional astrology for entertainment and self-reflection, not as a scientific assessment or prediction.
What happens when birth time is unknown
Unknown time is a supported input, not a prompt to guess noon. The calculator evaluates every valid sampled instant across the full local civil date for Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. It reports a stable sign when the complete date agrees or every possible sign when a body crosses a boundary.
Rising is omitted entirely because the eastern horizon changes too quickly for a responsible date-only result. No placeholder Ascendant is placed in the copied result. Stable unknown-time planets can show the degree span observed during the day, but the interface never labels one degree as the exact birth position.

Why birth time, place and timezone matter
A recorded local clock time is not yet an astronomical instant. The selected place supplies coordinates and an IANA timezone. The calculator applies the historical UTC offset in force on the birth date, handles repeated or nonexistent daylight-saving times explicitly and shows the chosen UTC conversion before calculating.
Place is essential for Rising because the Ascendant is a local horizon point. It can also matter near a planetary sign ingress because the same UTC boundary falls on different local dates in different timezones. A same-name city in another country or region can therefore change the audit and, near a boundary, the result.
How the combined calculation stays consistent
The homepage calls the same Moon, Rising, Sun, Venus and Mars calculation functions used by their dedicated pages. The remaining planets use the same geocentric apparent true-of-date method and the same unrounded 0–360-degree classification. Identical birth inputs therefore produce identical placement outcomes wherever a body appears.
Approximate time uses the declared uncertainty window rather than a midpoint shortcut. Unknown time uses the complete local date. Any sampled sign transition is refined to one second, and positions within 0.10 degrees of a sign edge receive a boundary warning. The result audit records engine version, zodiac system, sampling cadence, evaluation count and unrounded exact longitudes.
Private by design
No name, gender, email, account or saved birth profile is required. Birth date, time, selected place, coordinates, timezone and UTC instant stay in temporary in-page memory. They are not placed in result URLs, written to browser storage or sent to the publisher's servers.
Copy, download and share actions receive only the finished placement lines. The downloadable card explicitly excludes the birth date, time, place, coordinates and timezone. Reloading clears the temporary state. The current site has no advertising tags, analytics scripts or account sessions.
