What this Venus calculator returns
An exact result shows Venus’s sign, degree and minute after the local birth time has been converted through the confirmed IANA timezone. The audit retains the unrounded longitude used for classification, so display rounding cannot move a value into the next sign. It also records the Astronomy Engine version, the geocentric apparent method, the resolved timezone and the selected UTC instant.
Approximate and unknown-time results are ranges rather than single-point claims. They show every sign encountered, the evaluated within-sign degree span and whether the sign remained stable throughout the complete interval.
Does birth time change a Venus sign?
Venus usually moves slowly enough to remain in one sign during a birth day, but “usually” is not an accuracy rule. Near an ingress, the correct sign can depend on the local date, the historical UTC offset and where the unknown or approximate interval falls around the boundary.
For approximate time, the calculator samples the full selected window rather than treating its midpoint as exact. For unknown time, it checks the whole local civil date, includes both real occurrences of repeated daylight-saving labels, skips nonexistent clock labels and refines any detected sign transition to one second.
Venus sign is not Venus house
A Venus sign identifies the 30-degree tropical zodiac sector containing Venus at the evaluated instant. A Venus house answers a different question: it requires an accurately timed chart, an Ascendant and a chosen house system. This calculator deliberately stops at sign and longitude, so it cannot be used to infer or display a house position.
Dignity labels, synastry, compatibility scores and relationship predictions are also separate interpretive layers. None is needed to answer the lookup question this route owns.
How the Venus longitude is calculated
The engine calculates a light-time-corrected vector from the centre of Earth to Venus and applies aberration correction. That vector is converted from the J2000 equatorial frame to the true ecliptic and equinox of the requested date. The resulting longitude is normalized to 0–360 degrees and divided into twelve equal tropical signs.
This is a geocentric apparent position. It is not a heliocentric orbit position, a sidereal placement or a visual sky-direction estimate from the surface of the selected city.
Venus boundary warnings
A value within 0.10 degrees of a sign edge receives a visible warning. If an evaluated interval crosses an ingress, both signs appear and the audit records the sampling cadence and boundary refinement. A stable sign across an unknown day may include an evaluated degree range, but it never claims one exact birth degree without a recorded time.
Why another Venus calculator may disagree
Differences can come from tropical versus sidereal settings, a wrong same-name city, a historical timezone assumption, a noon default for missing time, a different apparent-versus-geometric convention or classification after rounded display values. Compare the system, UTC conversion and unrounded longitude before assuming either sign label is wrong.
